Qualtity Assurance

Where does our meat come from?

We  import all of our products from a reputable supplier in Germany. Our suppliers have been serving their home market for some 35 years, and are well established. Quality has highest priority, which means that the sources of our products have been carefully selected. All of the meat and offal used in our products come from EU controlled and certified abattoirs and meat cutting plants, which have been certificated for production of food for human consumption, and which have been registered under Art. 10 of the EU Regulation No. 1774/2002 by the respective local authorities. The products are free from additives of any kind. As a natural product, each pack has its own natural colour and consistency. Variants within each product are normal and natural. Deliberately none of our products have been industrially standardised.

Our beef and lamb products originate predominantly from the Western Coast of Schleswig-Holstein in Northern Germany, which is well known for its vast lush grazing fields. Our poultry products come from the Lower Saxony region, where large poultry farms serve the human food chain, which is very much to our advantage. Products made from deer, venison, goats and rabbits are predominantly from Lower Saxony, although in order to secure the supply chain we also source deer and venison from Austria. Deer and venison are exclusively from the wild and not farmed, and therefore are in a different quality category even if compared with free range and bio products. It is important to emphasise that in accordance with EU legislation, we only use healthy animals in the production process.

All of our products are manufactured under strict veterinarian controls. All processes are undertaken exactly the same strict standards of food production for human consumption. The selected meats are finely minced, naturally raw and without any additives, preservatives, artificial colours or flavour enhancers, freshly frozen in practical 500gm vacuum packs which fit easily into any domestic freezer. If necessary for smaller dogs and cats, the packs can simply be divided into half. The careful freezing process preserves the natural ingredients in the best possible way, giving our products a minimum shelf life of 12 months.
